Xperia C2304/C2305 Xperia Lollipop Looks Tips & Tricks

Xperia C Lollipop Feel Tips & Tricks

You will need:
-A Rooted Xperia C
-Nova Launcher (Prime is Recommended!)
-SoftkeyZ Android App
-Xperia Lollipop Icons (Link provided in thread!)
-Lollipop Keyboard
-Digital Clock Widget Xperia
-L Locker
-Other Lollipop apps compatible with Android 4.2.2/Xperia C (Material Calculator etc.)
-The 5 Xperia Lollipop Themes
-Root Explorer
-Other Lollipop toolkits (OPTIONAL)

What is Root?
Root is a system framework that allows you to add more customization into you phone's UI (a UI is you phone's look and feel.) When rooting, you are vioding your warranty, but if software is handled correctly, Rooting can be one of the most fun ways to customize your device.

How do I Root my device?
It's recommended that you use KingRoot (search Kingroot on Google and download from first link.), which is a one click Root application, but other one click Root apps, (such as Framaroot) is also advised.

GOOD TO KNOW...
All of these apps and Themes shown in this Doc doesn't use any Flashing Mods or Custom Roms. All of these apps are supposed to work with all Odex and none Odex Xperia C devices. (Root is required for most apps though.) Even if you don't have a Xperia C, most of these apps are also compatible with other phones running Android Jellybean+. This Manual is written and fully targeted towards the Sony Xperia C. All of these apps are also meant to work on all models of Xperia C. (C, C3, C4, & C5 Ultra)

How to use guide:

Nova Launcher:
-Simply download Nova Launcher (Prime is Recommended) and install. Go to Nova Launcher settings and change it to your taste. (Try to add much as Stock Lollipop settings as you can for best effect.) Remember to backup settings in case of a system problem. Nova doesn't use Root access so it can be used on your device without vioding your warranty.

SoftkeyZ Android App:
-SoftkeyZ is the best softkey applier out there. You can choose from a wide selection of Softkeys on the App offline as well as some great Softkey themes available to download. Unfortunately, on the Xperia C, when applying any of these Softkeys, the back button will always be bigger then the Home and Back button, BUT this can be fixed by downloading the Xperia Icon.zip file from the link in the thread of Xperia C Themes & Apps.

How to apply:
1: Extract the Icons from the zip file.
2: Open SoftkeyZ and in the menu, tap on 'Import.' Now select the back button Icon. Fully crop the button till it can't be cropped any more. When choosing the Home and Recent Button, don't crop complety, instead crop near the end on all four corners.(As usually when they are all the same size cropped, when you reboot you phone, Back button will seem bigger, so instead of making all of the Icons equally cropped, crop all of the Icons except for the back button NEAR fully cropped for the other buttons to appear bigger then the Back button, so when rebooting you device, all of the Icons will appear the same size.)
3: When your done with all the icon selection and cropping, click back and slide all the way down out of all the built in icons for your cropped Icons to appear. Select them accordingly and click the check mark. It will apply and reboot you phone. Enjoy!

Note: SoftkeyZ requires Root permission but doesn't require Xposed! :D

Lollipop Keyboard App
-Simply download and install the Google Keyboard from the Play Store, open and customize. Keyboard doesn't require Root.

Clock Widget Xperia
-Simply download and install from Apkmirror, 4Shared, or Play Store and open. Customize to your taste and go back to your phone's Home Screen. Add widget->Digital Clock Widget Xperia->Your Clock choice!(2x2 is Recommended.) No Root needed for this app to work.

L Locker
-L Locker is a great App which emulates the pure Lollipop Locker. The traditional Swipe Up to unlock and phone and camera shortcut on the sides are easy to use in this app. Simply Download, install, open, choose L style, disable the system's Stock lock screen, enable the L Locker, lock your screen then unlock again!!!:D No Root required!

The 5 Lollipop Themes:
-Note: Requires the Root Explorer app as well.
Simply download the Lollipop themes from a thread in the Xperia C Themes and Apps menu and Extract the files. Move them all to the system/app folder (r/w mode should be activated in Root Explorer) and change to correct permissions.

(BTW you don't have to rename the theme file names.)
After setting the permissions, reboot you device, open Settings/Display/Themes and the Lollipop Themes will appear in the Theme Manager. The themes will be displayed according to their color. (White, Blue, Red etc.)

Root Explorer:
-Root Explorer is a wonderful app that allows you to manually set permissions and change you system files, but can also be used as a daily File Manager. Root Explorer can also Extract and make .zip files! XD

So In Conclusion

If you followed these steps correctly, then you should be able to get the most out of your Xperia C's Lollipop feel. On a side note, you can also install Xposed, which allows you to get System Mods such as a custom notification bar and more. I've honsetly not even bothered using the App becuase really, all I need is Root and I'm all good. Anyway, thanks for reading my Xperia Lollipop for Xperia C Themes & Apps manual and be sure to max out that Thanks Meter on Xda!
