stock timer, how to change the tone and volume?

It's very nice and easy saying "what a wookie" to wake my phone and then telling it to set a timer for such and such minutes. I use the timer quite a bit. My problem the volume of the stock timer is obnoxiously loud and the tone is too attention getting...as I'm generally low-key. Has anyone figured out how to change the tone or volume levels of the stock timer?

I have an XT1096 with bl unlock & root.
