Having a G4 since a few weeks now, I got a Quick Circle cover and decided to take advantage of that to get some battery information and quick controls without turning on the G4 or opening the cover, two things my apps (3C Toolbox and co) deliver in various ways, from the home screen as shortcuts or widgets or from within the app.
So I used the existing gauge widget (which fits the quick circle perfectly) to get all kind of information displayed within the quick circle and also the quick control popup to get instant controls on various device settings (WiFi, APN, Flashlight, etc).
1- Download the main app
To take advantage of those, you will need to install one of the following apps:
- 3C Toolbox to display any information within the gauge and have quick controls.
- System Tuner to display only system information (no quick controls)
- Battery Monitor Widget to display battery information (no quick controls)
https://play.google.com/store/apps/developer?id=3c
2- Activate the desired quick app
a) Open Android settings, General tab, QuickCircle configuration, App selection.
b) Enable Quick Gauge and/or Quick Controls
3- Configuring the Quick Gauge
To access the quick gauge configuration, you need to display it within the Quick Circle cover, and simply open the cover. This will show the configuration as if it was a widget.
Widget Content to define what to show (the gauge and the central data can show two different things).
Widget Look'n'feel to define how to show it, coloring and optional icons.
4- Configuring the Quick Controls
There is no configuration for the Quick Controls, it's a scrolling list of 3 toggles per row.
However you can define the app theme, dark or light, 3D blue / flat icons, in app settings, UI / Theme. Those settings apply to the quick control and the whole app.
Light theme makes the app look very Material-designed, while the dark theme looks old'ish, even though those are the same ;)
