New to LG

So I just ordered a LG G Flex 2 since I read an article that it is 0 so I jumped on it and it is locked for AT&T but comes with a unlocking code but I'm AT&T so I won't be need that. It says it is at 5.0.1 lollipop. I was wondering if there is a official update for 5.1.1 for AT&T?
Also, I'm switch from Samsung to LG anyone want to give me some advice on LG G Flex 2 or if I should root it or not?
