Need help with Unofficial Cyanogenmod 12.1 / Faux sound

I recently installed CM 12.1/Android 5.1.1 on my phone (SGH-I747m).

I would like to use Faux sound or Trickerster MOD to fix my sound issue (lower gain) but the kernel doesn't seem to support faux sound. Is there some way I can add faux sound support OR change kernel OR adjust the audio gain directly somehow.
