I was very excited that Android one has come to Africa.
I was constantly searching for its availability in Jumia stores
The sole online seller in Nigeria and after three weeks I got mine
#1 At first boot it couldn't load. Of course, removing the
Battery and putting it back solved the issue. It booted with
Nice boot animation.
Before I go into the touchscreen issues you might want to read this
GOING IN TO RECOVERY, FASTBOOT AND FACTORY MODE.
#A RECOVERY
To enter Recovery
#1 power off the phone
#2 press the volume up and power button together
#3 select boot mode will show in a dark screen. Follow the
Appropriate info on the screen and select recovery. But that's
Not all. Once you select recovery, Infinix will appear on the
Screen and only an empty Android logo will appear on screen
#4 now press and hold the power and volume up button
Together. It will move you into the stock recovery.
The usual normal stock recovery but this one has additional
Root integrity check - which should check if the system
Has been tempered with.
You can also view logs from the recovery and interestingly
You can view the last-kmsg from the recovery.
#B FASTBOOT
You can go into the fastboot mode (bootloader) from
The recovery. But if you are not in the recovery, hard keys
Can take you there too.
#1 press the volume up button Together with the power (for like 5 seconds)
#2 a dark screen with three options will come up
#3 select fastboot mode.
#C FACTORY MODE
#1 Press the power and volume down together for like 5 seconds
You can do some hardware test and other tests with it.
#TOUCHSCREEN TROUBLESHOOTING
IF YOU HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO TEST THE PHONE BEFORE
YOU BECAREFUL to check the touchscreen response.
#1 touch the screen from all the edges -
Top-right
Top-centre
Top-left
Bottom-left, middle, right
#2 Check the centre of the the screen and there about
In a white background, be on the lookout for almost an
Invincible horizontal line across the middle areas, if you
See any test how sensitive touch is around it.
#3 if everything seems OK then you should try out a complex
Lock screen pattern. This will confirm that your screen is ok
I've installed two other X510 from the carton, luckily for
Me mine touch screen is ok but the other two I configured
Lags in touch sensitivity in some of the screen areas.
My take is this is a good phone for the price.
2GB Ram and 16GB ROM is really a handful....
Will be updating more....
