HRM freezing

I really want to love this watch.. I mean I waited months for it. But, it is making it very difficult. Has anyone else tried working out with the HRM with an application that actually uses the HRM? So far I tried it with RunGPS and AgileFit, and every time the HR has frozen. I don't know whether I have a defective watch or if it just doesn't work well by design. -cjr-
