Glass separator?

Hey ppl I bought a nexus 6 about a week ago for 0 on eBay with a broken screen. It's 100% usable and works great. I'm thinking of repairing it but the stupid screen costs 0 to repair! So I was thinking to buy a LCD glass separator for plus the actual glass for and fix it my self for under 0. The thing is I want to ask if its even possible to do this? I mean if the touch screen is connected to the glass or not and if anyone had any experience/advice?
