[FTF] Xperia ZR C5503 Lollipop 5.1.1 Firmware files



The Sony Xperia ZR is a touchscreen-enabled, HD Android flagship high-end smartphone designed, developed, and marketed by Sony Mobile.
The phone was announced by Sony at CES 2013 and was released on 17 May 2013 in Japan. The Xperia ZR was initially shipped with Android 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean) and has been updated to Android 4.4 recently. The smartphone has Ingress Protection Ratings of IP55 and IP58, making it dust protected, low pressure water jet protected, and waterproof. Sony's internal test showed that there are no water intrusion after testing Xperia ZR in 1.5-metre of water for 30 minutes. Xperia ZR also features a 13 MP IMX135 Exmor RS camera sensor as well as a HD (720 x 1280 pixels) display, encompassed in Sony's Industrial 'Omni-Balance' Design.
Pre-requisites:
  • Before we go any further, Please check your phone model number by going to Settings -> about phone -> Model number, If yours match this Number C5503, Then you are good to go.

  • Make sure your phone's battery is above 50% charge.

  • Original USB cable.

How to update your Sony Xperia ZR C5503 to Android Lollipop 5.1.1?

  • To make sure Sony drivers will install properly on your PC, Download the latest version of Sony PC Companion from here and install it.

  • Download Flashtool from here and install it.

  • Download Sony FTF file from one of the links provided below :

  • Now go to C:Flashtool and run Flashtool.exe, Click on the Flash icon in the left, Select Flashmode and press OK.

  • From the source folder in the top navigate to the folder where you downloaded the FTF file earlier and press OK.

  • Select the FTF file from the Firmware menu and click Flash.

  • Now wait until a window prompts asking you to plug your phone with USB cable.

  • Power off your device.

  • Press the volume down button and plug the USB cable, The update should begin...

  • Wait until the update is completed, Unplug the USB cable and reboot your device.
    The first boot should take some time...
    Now you have successfully update your phone.
