Did I just get root for XT1097 on 5.1 or is it temporary only?

Hi everyone,

So I really wanted root access but I heard it was impossible on 5.1.
Here's what I did:
unlocked bootloader using motorola dev token
downloaded twrp 2.8.5.0-victara
booted into recovery using fastboot boot
flashed UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46.zip from TWRP

And now my phone says it is rooted.

It can't be that easy... What have I misunderstood? Is this a temporary root or something?
