Device won't enter recovery mode

So yesterday phone suddenly stopped working.
It was rooted and with CWM but stock ROM.
Tried entering recovery mode to no avail.
Re-flashed the recovery image into boot and got:

Phone gets stuck on HTC logo, and only removing battery shuts it down, the same happens when i try to enter recovery mode, or when i charge it.

Is there anything i can do or is it ready to be tossed to the bin? I would much rather i didn't though.
