concern message notification settings

hi. i am using lenovo p780. i uploaded chomps sms. and i realized that my message setting doesn't have a message notification setting. why so?. i'm having a problem of receiving double messages every time there are replies. how can i disable it? can you help me? is their anyway to change? thanks
