BitTorrent-Filesharing: The most ridiculous mistake, an uploader can make.

Hello, everybody.

I've seen many dead torrents in the Internet.

Most of the times, a too low count of seeders will cause a torrent to die or will make the availability very low.
But sometimes, somebody who created a torrent, does not exactly know, in which way Torrents work.

This can cause the creator to think, that everybody, who loads this torrent now, will get the files.
He will switch the computer off or delete the files (thinking, he can get them back with the same torrent), not realizing, that there are no online-servers, who store the files to be shared. If you've just created a torrent, you are the only seeder in the world. If somebody loads the torrent, the files will be downloaded directly from your computer by the leecher. If you seed the files to the leecher, the leecher will turn into a seeder and if somebody else switches his computer on and loads your torrent, that's how torrents grow up to survive. Then they will be also able to seed it, as long as their computers are switched on and the files are present, and they're connected to the Internet with a running torrent client. :svetius:

You have to seed your torrent in order to keep it alive and make more seeders. They'll share it to leechers, which are online at a different clocktime.

But if the original uploader does not seed this torrent and thinks, all work is done, then the torrent will die instantly.
