Question on SD Card usage

I remember reading a while back that the SD card might have to be formatted in some weird way to do something.

Is it possible to just use a fat32/exfat formatted card in the phone as pure storage such that it's still 100% readable on a computer?

4K video on 1080p - CPU usage

I've just tried a 4K h264 video on MX Player with HW+ acceleration and everything goes fine. The doubt is: what about CPU and downsampling?

I mean, my doubt is about what happens. When the HW computates the 4K video, does it render it directly in 1080p or it renders it in 4k and than it downsamples it to 1080p? Because in the first case the CPU and HW usage would be a lot lower than the second case.

"Data Usage" utility on stock Android 5.1.1

How quickly does the data usage utility log used data. Does it cut off someone when tethered if the limit is reached?

I was recently at the cottage this past week so set my phone as a hotspot in another room and connected with my iPad.

In data usage I had a warning set for 5.2GB used and a hard cap of 5.8GB to pause data. Being it was in the other room I have no idea if or when I got the warning but streaming through netflix on the tethered iPad I blew past the hard limit to 6.7GB used. On the one hand I got to finish my movie, but on the other I went over my plan limit. When I went and checked later that night I did see the warning and my data paused, but it didn't cut me off from tethering like I would expect, at least not right away. Is there a lag to when it will collect and correlate stats to then act on them.

Either way its still better than my carrier who emailed me the next day that I used 75% and then 2 hours later that I used 100% of my data.

Keep network traffic usage stats after wipe?

A few bugs after a week of usage

So I am trying the Samsung promo for a month and have been using the device for a week now. Here is my initial thoughts- complains/kudos/rants:
1. I still freaking hate Touchwiz. Its ugly, too complex and still has a lot of bloat. I am using touchwiz after 2-3 years now and I still feel its extremely ugly.
2. Samsung has really turned it around with the hardware. It feel premium, battery life is good and screen is stunning. The camera is probably the best out there.
3. I have noticed the small bezzles on the side causes the apps to open when I dont want to use them. This gets really annoying.
4. S-pen as actually not that bad and I use it quite a bit.
5. When the phone is locked and away, I have noticed the notification don't come up right away. I have seen Whatsapp and email notifications come in really late and show up only when I opened the app. Thought it was weird.
6. The finger print unlock works great all the time.

TLDR- Someone please make a Note 5 with Stock Android running.

Is it possible to exclude traffic usage for specific apps from the data usage stats?

I'm from Germany. T-Mobile Germany offers free traffic for Spotify music streaming as an option for their otherwise limited data plans (mine has 1,5 GB/month). I'd like to use the data usage statistics, but as you might guess, when using Spotify a lot the statiscs are skewed since Android doesn't distinguish the traffic from the rest or offer an option to exclude Spotify from the usage statistics.

Does anybody know of an add-on that would give me an "include in usage statistics" checkbox in the corresponding settings tab? And if not, do you know of any plans to include something like this in Android Marshmallow or any custom roms?

Constant high cpu usage of "system_server - BluetoothPhoneService"

I am running stock 5.1.1 on my Nexus 5, and have recently noticed reduced battery life. When running Quick System Info PRO, I see that "system_server - BluetoothPhoneService" is constantly consuming anywhere from 15-60% cpu, usually 20-30%. I have tried restoring all the Google factory ROM's one by one, starting with 5.0 (LRX21O) up to 5.1.1 (LMY48I), yet the issue persists. Toggling Bluetooth doesn't help any, and Bluetooth functions normally when needed, but is usually kept off.

Has anybody else encountered this issue?

Any advice would be most appreciated. I would be pleased to install any other software which may help provide more info.

Suddenly high CPU usage

Hello, I'm having problem with debuggerd process, it suddenly started to use a lot of my processor and making my battery drain very fast and the phone overheat. The problem started today in the morning, everything was fine till 10am, then the phone just freezed so I had to restart it, since then the problem is happening, I've restarted the it many times and nothing fixes the issue

I have the d802 version of the phone, I'm using stock (without any mod, not even root) 5.0.2 v30b (from Portugal), the last change I've made was update some apps.
I would appreciate any help to stop debuggerd from using all my processor, I want to avoid a system reset, I've a lot of personal data and that would take some time to backup

Samsung Keyboard App causing up to 32% CPU usage

Hi everyone,

My Tmobile Note 4 lags and freezes quite a bit. I've done many things to include a hard reset, but the lag is back. It can get bad sometimes. So I decided to install Trepn Profiler and the CPU usage for the Samsung Keyboard app varies from 10-30% when the keyboard isn't being used. I tried Greenify, but it won't force close the Samsung Keyboard app. Why is this program using the CPU this much when it's not being used? By the way, the Samsung Keyboard app is always at the top of the list on CPU usage.

In either case, what are your thoughts and how to fix this? What's the best way of tracking down apps that cause this beast to slow down and lag? I have too many apps loaded to uninstall them and track down the culprit or culprits one by one.

Using a VPN to hide usage while tethering g flex ??

Hey guys needing a little help and as pretty much as the title states I'm needing help setting up a VPN on my G flex I have a d 950 unlocked and I'm using it on metro pcs. Problem is I can't find a VPN that will work or a tether app that will block usage like foxfi would. But being that I can't get foxfi to work and the only app i can get to work on my g flex is "wifi tether router" I need other alternatives . Or a good vpn that will work with our phones and or settings can anyone help?

What is with the ram usage and freezes?

OK so I've been using the Shield Tablet for about 6 months now, and the one thing that drives me crazy with it is the occasional freezes for up to 30 seconds or more sometimes! It happened on my pre-recall Tablet, it happens on my post-recall Tablet. It happened %100 stock, it happened rooted with stock rom, it happens rooted with stock rom and Bit-O kernel.

I know WHAT causes the freezes, I just don't understand WHY... The cause is that every single time my tablets ram usage get to the point where I only have around 300mb of free ram let, it starts freezing. When it gets down to around only 250mb free, it freezes like CRAZY and for long periods.

Does anyone know why this is or what can be done about it?
