Youtube Playback not working (and other issues)...

Hello guys,

From the title, you might wonder what it has to do with the Z2 Tablet but I know for a fact it's the tablet and not the apps.

A few months back, I tried custom Roms; it all went fine until I tried CyanogenMod. The Rom itself was quite good but it messed up with the Recovery Partition, forcing the installation of the crappy Cyanogen Recovery (although the option to install it with updates was deactivated in the settings; I still don't understand how it got there). I had a hard time installing permanently another Recovery, it always got back to Cyanogen Recovery after a reboot.

A few issues also started to appear on non-Cyanogen ROMS : Adway wouldn't work. Titanium Backup sometimes couldn't find the backups. Youtube playback wouldn't work with the latest version. Gifs would never load on Relay for Reddit. It took me a while to realize that it was related to the ROM, until I actually tried Cyanogen again...where everything worked, sometimes using the same Titanium Backup for the apps !

I got fed up about this, so I decided to revert to full stock (latest 5.1) using the proper FTF.
And you know what ? Youtube Playback is not working, Gifs won't load in Relay. Can't speak for TiBu and Adaway as I didn't root but I'm sure they wouldn't work either. I'm also sure that other apps that I don't use have issues.

Do you have any idea what could be the source of these troubles ? Because if flashing a stock FTF still didn't fixed them, I think Cyanogen damaged my tablet more deeply than I thought...

Thanks !

[GUIDE] [ROOT] 60FPS YouTube Playback on any device!

Hey everyone !
I was recently searching for a way to enable 60FPS YouTube Playback on my Galaxy S3 i9300. i found nothing, so i decided to mess around with the build.prop. here is a very simple fix that i have found.

  1. update your Youtube app to the latest version.

  2. force stop the play store, YT gaming, and the youtube app. and clear all of their datas. make sure NOT to open them after.

  3. Open up your root file manager and navigate to /System/build.prop and edit your phone model.
    look for your manufacturer down below and replace the phone model with the one that i listed.

SAMSUNG -> SM-G900F
LG -> H815
LG Nexus -> Nexus6

if your device manufacturer is not listed just use the Samsung one. Or if 60 FPS works for you please give me your model number! would be great help to others.

5.1 audio playback glitch on first start

On cyanogenmod (cm-12.1-20150822-NIGHTLY-m8), but this problem has been occurring since 12.0. Any time I start new audio either using the default 'Music' or Google 'Play Music' audio players, there is a very loud audio pop before the music starts. When this occurs with headphones, its far too loud and could easily lead to audio loss. Seems to only occur on the first playback attempt.

Video below demonstrating the default CM12.1 audio player -- but can also be reproed with Google Play Music, thus a OS problem: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CTXcKklggeY

Having some trouble with slow motion playback

Hello all,
I recently purchased an LG G4 from AT&T, and I am so far, extremely satisfied with it. Overall, it's a great phone, but obviously not without it's flaws. So far, one I've found is that I can't seem to get slow motion video to play back on my device. I've looked around on the interwebs, and found that playback only works in the default "Video" app, which doesn't seem to exist in my app drawer. I see it in the app list in settings, but sadly, not anywhere where it can be opened. On top of this, the default gallery app doesn't seem to play them either (not the google photos or gallery, this is the LG gallery). If anyone has some insight into this, or a potential fix, any help would be gladly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Ivory

Galaxy alpha low power audio playback

hello guys

i,ve purchased the samsung galaxy alpha recently g850f the exynos chipset model , i did read that this chipset do have a cortex a5 core that's responsible for audio tasks such as playing music so the 8 cores can enter deep sleep mode , ive been monitoring it recently and i found that during playing music the cpu stays at its lowest speed but never goes into deep sleep mode , is that normal or is there some way to enable lpa like a build.prop line or so ?

the lpa thingie is mentioned here
