YOU NEED TO AT LEAST BE ON A 4.4 BOOTLOADER
BACKUP YOUR APPS
MAKE A NANDROID AS WELL
BACKUP YOUR INTERNAL SD
Boot to recovery
Format Data (not just Wipe)
Format System
Format Cache
Install Rom
Reboot
Wait 5 minutes
Install relevant updates
Reboot
Setup, and make sure to select 'No Thanks' to Samsung
Add your Provider APN
PROFIT!
If you fail to follow these simple instructions, and post your issues, you will get ignored...
and trust me, I'll be able to tell if you did or not!

Recommended Config
These are merely my recommendations. Others may have better configs for them, but this works for me, and works very well for me. This gets me in between 6-8 days worth of battery for normal usage. 3-4 for my normal moderate usage. All without sacrificing performance.

After install, skip over entire setup, and head to 'Settings' -> 'Developer Options'.
Change All animations to .25
Reboot
Turn On 'Mobile Data'
Configure your APN
If it does not appear to save for you, take my word for it, it's there
Choose 'Network Provider'
Add your account(s)
Install 'Terminal Emulator' from PlayStore
Open 'Terminal Emulator'
Type in:
su
cd sbin
./dp
Configure as follows:
CPU Max Freq: 2.5Ghz
CPU Min Freq: 422Mhz
Screen Off CPU Max: 422Mhz
GPU Govenor: ondemand
I/O Read Ahead: 1024
Reboot
Set up the rest as you normally would
