Several days ago my phone starting dropping battery much faster than usual. While I am at work I barely touch my phone and some days I will only use 15% over an 8 hour period. This suddenly increased to about 40-50% a few days ago. I tracked it down to the bluetooth being enabled or not. My bluetooth has been always-on for the last several months without an issue. Now I can see the battery discharge rate increase immediately when the bluetooth is turned on. I've attached a screenshot showing the problem. I had the bluetooth off in the morning and you can see the slow discharge. I turned it on for several hours and you see the steep discharge until I turned it off again and the discharge levels out. It was not connected to anything during the entire day. Does anyone have any idea why this would suddenly happen? I am going to have to turn off my bluetooth when not in use until I figure this out.

Why is Android killing running apps instead of old apps when low memory?
Using Lollipop on my device with 1 GB of RAM, I've found that I have trouble using Maps Navigation and Play Music together. Frequently, if I start Nav and then Music, Nav will be closed. Conversely, if I start Music and then Nav, Music will be closed.
Further, I've discovered that if I open the app switcher and clear all old applications, that Nav and Music will work together without problem.
It appears that Android is trying to reclaim memory while under pressure from Nav & Music, but it's starting with other fresh, currently-running applications instead of clearing out old apps from memory first. I would expect stale applications, like Chrome, Mint, or whatever that hasn't been touched in hours to be killed first over a new app--especially ones that are running in the background actively (Music, Nav).
Why is Android killing processes like that? Shouldn't it kill old apps first over newer, active ones?

Android OS Wakelock killing the battery!
Hey guys,
I've been having an S6 Edge+ for a couple of days already but there seems to be an issue with the ROM. I'm getting a lot of battery drain from the "Android OS" and I'm losing up to 5% - 7% per hour in standby.... I have even re-flashed the entire ROM and factory reset two times... still the same.
I've disabled Google's Location History and Google Now but this did not help...
My previous Galaxy S6 was also running the latest ROM but there were no such problems...
Has anybody else experienced such an issue and do you have any ideas?

Ok, first things first.
I'm from Brazil and I have an android phone. It's a LG L40 (tri chip and tv) and I THINK it's 4.2.2, NOT ROOTED. I have learn with my friends something called "Developer settings" (or something like this, my phone is portuguese).
Then I go to this menu and I clicked something I don't remember. I just know the phone shows up a windows "Attention, blah blah blah" and I press ok then another window appears, but that was the "Shutting Down" window. Then the phone turns black and then turns on. Then a window appears saying "Optimizing apps. 0 of 137 apps". After that the phone just appeared a lot of error windows. Like "unfortunately, videos has stopped", "unfortunately, this has stopped", "unfortunately, that has stopped". And there was just the ok button. But the last message was "unfortunately, com.android.systemui has stopped". No matter how much times I click ok, this windows pops up. I can't go to settings because the system doesn't started yet, I mean, it stopped. Behind that the screen is black.
I also tried to hold lock + up + down. The system boot and the optimizing starts again.
I have downloaded SDK but I will se what can I do with it, but I know that I have to plug the phone with USB on pc. Unfortunately, the device doesnt appear on windows explorer. Only in computer management.
Please, for God's sake, help me. I'm tired about this. This really destroied my day.
Sorry for my bad english

[Q] something is killing whatsapp, viber background processes
hi guys,
i have a rooted 5.0.2 S6 .... no kill-task app , battery saver, etc app installed ....
for some time now i have a problem with my messenger apps and maybe with gmail ... i only get notifications when i load the apps ... i've seen that after some time they disappear from 'running apps' ... so there is something that is killing their background process
i've deleted and reinstalled the apps, cleared dalvik ... nothing helps .... on wifi or data ... the background processes of these apps are killed ...
i'm about to do a factory reset ... but if you guys have any ideas that would be great ... it's so boring to reinstall an set the whole thing again :)
thanx!!

Android killing apps too soon
Using Beyondpod to listen to Podcasts. Would go into Chrome and sometimes the playback would stop. Someone at Beyondpod forums said Android is killing Beyondpod because Chrome is a foreground process.
Also noticed today in Chrome, I would start a forum post. Then go into Apps to look at the free RAM which was around 300Mb. Then went back to Chrome to finish my post and what I had typed in was gone. So Android is killing apps to make room for other apps.
Also my mistake was trying out the beta and dev versions of Chrome. Got rid of those. So far using Beyondpod and Chrome together is not killing my audio.
There is a setting in the Dev section for number of apps to keep. It is set to standard right now. Looks like the max is 4 maybe 5 processes.

Is there a possibility to Turn old Tablet on after "killing" update?
Dear Community,
I got a problem after receiving my replacement tablet and could not recover all my data from the old tablet. I think the Update came last night for my tablet and it doesn't turn on anymore. Is there any possibility to get my old data back? Or can I force the tablet to turn on?
Any suggestions would be helpful.
