Updating to 5.1.x from 5.0.2 and keeping root and data with Sony OTA

Hello, I want to update my phone to the latest Sony Android firmware but I want to keep all my data and root intact. I have DualRecovery on my device but I'm not sure if that will be lost as well with Sony OTA.

Currently I'm just using pre-rooted stock 23.1.A.1.28 (5.0.2) on my phone.

Keeping Root & wp off when Upgrading Rooted Retail VZW Moto X with wp off to Lollipop

My Retail XT1060 VZW Moto X 2013 (non-dev edition) is rooted with a locked bootloader and write-protection off and running Android 4.4. I would like to upgrade to Lollipop (Android 5.1) while keeping root access and write-protection off. Is this doable?

Keeping root after OTA update?

Hi

I have Android 5.1.1 running with root on my Nexus 4 (using Nexus Root tool kit)

So there's a stock recovery installed.

There's Superuser installed.

There's an update waiting to be installed and I would like to keep the root or be able to root without losing data.

My phone has bootloader unlocked. And SU app installed.

Cheers

Any point to keeping Knox?

I bought my Tab Pro 10.1 in the U.S. and live in Canada so warranty is worthless to me, and I very much doubt I will get to BYOD where I work. Is there even the faintest value in preserving my device's virginity and not giving it the experience of a rooted Lollipop (assuming I like LP which I do)?

Rooting the M7 but keeping the system

Hello, I was searching the internet for an answer to this, but I found nothing.

I would like to root my phone, but I love it as it is - I just want to be able to use apps like Jbed, which are functional only with a rooted phone.

Is there a way to root the phone, but keep the original system, which is being updated from time to time as it is now, or is it necessary to use Custom ROM? I rooted several phones, but it was always to have a better or a different OS. This time I want to keep the same one.

If it's impossible to stay with the original system (rooted), would you kindly suggest a custom rom that is identical to the official OS?

Thank you very much.

Anyway of keeping extra volume on for calls?

I find the volume level of the s6 very low and find myself having to tap extra volume on most calls, infact it would be much easier if it could just be on all the time, is there any way of doing this?

Thanks

James

T-Moble 920T SIM Unlocking and keeping WiFi Calling and VoLTE (Can it be done?)

Guys, I have a question for anyone that's SIM unlocked their 920T's. At the moment, my 920T is running xtresolite 2.2. It's based off a 920F firmware. As you know, this is an International version. To further complicate things, I needed to SIM unlock my phone so right now I'm using the MetroPCS COF9 baseband. Every time I switch back to a T-Mobile based ROM, my SIM unlock gets pulled and the phone is relocked back to T-Mobile (has been confirmed in multiple posts on XDA). I'd just stay with xtresolite 2.2 but I have no wifi calling or volte. I'm trying to find a rom for this phone that supports a different carrier sim as well as volte/wifi calling when I switch back to my T-Mobile sim. Is this possible?

All the ROM's I find for the 920T are either locked down T-Mobile ROM's under that development section and the general development section is mostly compatible International variants - but lacking WiFi calling or VoLTE. I'm beginning to think these two things just can't work together on the same ROM.

Thanks so much in advanced for a reply!
