Is the Bootloader really unlocked???

So I just bought the 710 a couple days ago. Its really nice.. not perfect (no quick charge, no usb type c, no front facing speakers) but so many good things... its a basically an ipad mini running android, the ridiculous nice 4:3 screen with navigation on narrow side, really lightweight, 32gb w/ microsd, fingerprint, touchwiz keyboard and most importantly we have twrp already!?! Im really feelin' this over the nexus 9.

Can someone explain to me how this is? Do these devices come with unlocked bootloaders or is this some type of bypass or unlock we have achieved? Just really happy to have such a sweet device with custom rom potential.

Phone gets really hot on certain roms

Hi all,

I seem to have a problem with certain roms on my S3 that will heat my phone up excessively after just a few minutes use, while other roms don't.

I used to use Omega Rom V43.3 and JKay and that never once heated up to the extent that I would almost burn myself. I decided to try Revolution HD, Glamour S5 and Blisspop and my phone would heat up with all of them.

I am looking for a new rom as Omega Rom is really outdated and I am missing out on newer updates.

What would cause this? Is this Kernel related? If so what Rom or Kernel would reduce this?

I use the screen on the lowest brightness setting and don't use too many apps at once, Spotify, Facebook, Whatsapp etc.

Does anyone have an idea? I would have asked in a dev thread for one of the roms but I don't have the required 10 posts.

Tablet running really slow

This tablet has been great, running complex things like Injustice perfectly. For some reason is has really slowed down recently, even just using the home screen.

I have almost 7 gigs free/

help needed please really confused

so i have i9505 samsung galaxy s4 lte but in the odin download mode the product name shows sph l720 why is this and can i flash a stock i9505 lollipop rom to it or no please reply fast

Hello guys i have really big problem on my GT-I9505 :'(
My PC don't recognize phone, but i have installed drivers, I also tried the older version, differnet computer , hardware change my micro USB port....
And nothing :'(
But when i go in download mode to try flash some file with odin my phone install only msM8960 driver.I don't know what is that but i have port on odin and when i start flashing he stuck on Get pit for mapping :'(
After that i try to repartiton with gti9505 repartition file but stuck again :/
Idk what to try, maybe to smash my phone? :eek:
I think that i have problem with modem but i can't flash new one with odin :'(
Only what i can is install update zip from sd card in stock cwm :eek:

REALLY need help with my phone.

OK i bought a phone on ebay and the phone never stops giving me ads from god knows where. and installing games.this is the phone 8GB 5MP QHD MTK6572 Dual Core 5" Android 4.4 Unlocked Mobile Phone Smartphone it doesnt give any make or model. i do have a link to the phone on ebay but this site isnt let me post it becuase i dont have 10 post(sooo frustrating)
I cant find a name for the phone i was told to insall root checker which i did and it says this phone isnt rooted properly.I was then told to try SuperSu that said a binary wasnt install and that supersu could do it. I was then directed to this forum for help with my phone, so here i am trying to sort my phone out.

Z5 Premium not really a 4k phone

Why is it that no one has reported that the 4k resolution on the Z5 premium is only 4k when playing or filming 4k video. At all other times i.e 99% of the time, the device has normal resolution. I think its misleading by Sony regarding the way they have advertised the product. If I buy a 4k phone as Sony has described the Z5 premium, I am more interested in my home screen, normal apps and text messages etc being 4k resolution rather that the ability to film 4k video. Its not that I need such resolution for these but merely the principle.

Could really use some help with Lg Tribute 2

Hello everyone, Hope all is well with you all. I bought the Boost Mobile Lg Tribute 2 [LG LS665] [android v5.1.1] about 3 days ago now and as with any new android based device I get, gaining root and installing a custom recovery becomes my first priority. Well gaining root was no problem at all for me using the KingRoot app but the problem occurred when uninstalling some system apps\ bloatware. I uninstall the same system apps every time I get a device with no problems whatsoever. On my new Lg Tribute 2 I didn't uninstall anything I haven't before except this time when I restarted my phone I was(and am everytime I restart now) greeted with the usual phone initial setup accept it starts at the accessibility screen. Now keep in mind that my phone is already setup and has apps installed. When I continue the setup it goes through as normal and all my apps and wallpaper are still there. When I restart as stated previously I'm confronted with the initial accessibility setup - choose language - choose wifi etc ..... What i have found today is that instead of going through the initial setup at each restart I can instead access the settings through the lock screen and when i choose Settings \Home screen\Select Home and pick Home it simply bypasses the setup and loads the home screen which is great accept when I go that route my Home and Menu soft keys are disabled (not highlighted and unresponsive) plus my status bar wont pull down unless the phone is locked. What did I uninstall to do this. I can't remember what apps i uninstalled off the top of my head and can't find a list of preinstalled system apps on line to compare with. I know this is long so I apologize but I am stumped. Google search comes up empty as the Tribute 2 is fairly new as is 5.1.1 so any help would be appreciated very much. Also I for the life of me cannot find anything for the lg tribute 2 that could help me such as a working custom recovery, a stock image or any custom roms. Thank you for taking the time to read this very very very much.

Summary of problems:
1. Confronted with initial phone setup at each restart even though phone is setup.
2. My status bar won't pull down unless phone is on lock screen. (luckily because this gives me access to the phone settings and homescreen).
3. My soft home and menu buttons don't work at all ( only back button still works).
4. Cannot find stock image on line to reflash.

A Really Really Stupid Question

When playing around with roms on my nexus 7 I popped over to a 5.x one and it totally goofed up the file system and I had to wipe and start all over again. Wasn't that big of a deal since I back everything up off the device but makes it a bit of a pain going back and forth between 5.x and 4.x roms. Do the 5.x roms on the S3 do the same thing?

Nexus 6 - Google worst phone is still a really good phone

I think we can all agree that with the build quality issues, backs bubbling, yellow/pink screens, this will probably go down as the worst phone that google has made. It also was not well received for its size.

Keeping all that in mind... the Nexus 6 (moto) is still a great phone. It's fast, good battery life, no heavy flaws other than those have as preferences in their devices (no stylus, ect). It's versatile, not hard to tear down and replace things in,, dual front speakers and with a few software tweaks battery life goes from good to great, screen colors get better and with a ROM all the features people want can be added. It was also cheaper than every other flagship except the G3 when it came out.

I know there are peopel out there have have reason that maybe teh device they got in hand had some issues. but I personally have gone though 5 Nexus 6 and i never regretted it, i just stupidly sold it to buy another phone I wanted but never found to be quite as good.

1. 32GB MB - Purchased through Moto, RMA'd for uneven screen color.
2. Sold to buy a 64GB CW
3. Sold to buy a Moto X 2014 and Nexus 7
4. 64GB CW - bought after selling Moto X and 7in tablet
Sold that X to get a Galaxy S6
5. Sold S6 to buy 32GB MB
6. 32GB CW, the 32GB MB now sits in my drawer.


Yes I have an addition.

After going though all these phones I have found only 2 things that I wish were different in the Nexus 6.

1. I wish it had a Moto Maker like system. Picking a different back color for it would have been really nice. Even if just limited to the 4 Nexus colors plus Black and White. I'd likely buy Red.
2. I wish the camera was better. If they released the EXACT same Nexus 6 next year, but with the camera abilities of the S6 I'd still buy a new one.

S6 cant see my 5 GHZ wireless network . Really could use some help

So I'm facing this weird problem, my s6 cant see the 5 GHZ network. But can see and connect to the 2.4 GHZ network. I've used the 5 GHZ network with a xperia z. I've flashed stock firmware via odin and also tried custom roms. Same problem. Any solution ?

Just received my Moto G, is a case really even needed?

Love the device, just got it today. Am I safe without a case? If it drops do I risk major damage to the device or the piece on the back that snaps on?

Randomly will not work. Black screen after boot, phone really hot.

Phone is completely stock. Haven't messed with it at all. My phone died around 5% battery left so I went to put it on charger. Charged it up for like 20 minutes while I watched a movie, and i went to turn it on and it was really hot. It booted up still but whenever it was done booting, the screen just went black. Nothing would work. If i hold power button down, the power down option appears and it works to shut it off. If i shake it, the camera comes up but I cannot take a picture or do anything. Any idea? I also tried to reboot into recovery and couldn't . I dont know if im not pressing the correct buttons so if you know the correct way please let me know.

Are expensive branded cases really better than generic ones?

I'm currently waiting for my Moto X (2nd gen...) to arrive and searching for a case & screen protector.

I live in Israel and so prices are higher than in the US if I include shipping and so on. For example the Supcase bumper case which I assume will be best for me costs about 33$.
I've also checked Chinese sites like Ali Express and I can find all kind of cases for 1$-5$ and shipping is free. I'm wondering if there's any significant difference between those higher-priced branded cases to and generic ones in terms of protection. My current Moto G has a Trident Aegis case which is great but also pretty expensive - I'm wondering if I should again invest in a such a case (though not so bulky as this one) or I can go with one for 4$-5$ and get pretty good protection.

I WON'T compromise on protection but if I can get it for less money it's of course better.

I really need help to unbrick LG G3 S/Beat D722k!!

Anyone know how I can unbrick my phone? cuz now the device manager only shows my phone as Qualcomm HS-USB Qloader 9008(com4). My phone when power on will still have black screen and can't go into download mode or recovery, just black screen even tho I know it's on. I really need help if anyone knows.

I'm thinking about trying this method (http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2660566) to try and boot from sdcard so that I can go into download mode and reflash stock, but I need someone with a LG G3 S/Beat d722k to run this and the output will be a debrick image I can use: busybox dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0 of=/sdcard/backup.bin bs=1M count=200 if it does not work for me then I'll ask to change the last number (count=) to something larger and try it. I really need help.

Can you really fix screen burn-in?

Love this phone. But damn screen is already burned-in. Can see ghosting of the nav bar and clock. I'm sure a lot of us do.

Has anyone been able to fix it? I tried all those apps. Blinking colors, all whip_te, inverted. Nothing works for me.

Is there really a fix for ghosting on the amoled screen?
