Possible for a custom ROM to mess up radio??

Is it possible for a custom ROM to disable a radio?? I was under the impression (after much Google-ing) that a S-ON phone can NOT modify the radio via IMG file (or any other method).

I have been trying several ROMs on my Desire S and finally found one I really like. Problem is, I no longer get any radio signal (no bars, no service). My Desire is rooted/unlocked, running Cyanogen Mod 9, HBOOT 2.00.0002, S-ON, radio 3822.10.08.04_M, service provider is AT&T US.

Any thoughts HTC gurus? THANK you in advance for any helpful info :)

***Pls no flaming just cause I LIKE a smaller form factor phone. If I could buy a NEW phone with 3.7"-4" screen I would. They just don't make em.

A complete mess...

Hi guys,

I've received my Gear Live yesterday.

Immediatly begin to play with it, installing Android Wear on my Lollipop Note 3.

Btw, she was on Knx01q.

Paired the watch, surfing a little bit on the computer and some time after, the watch was no more connected to the phone.
On the screen there's a nice "Google Play services has stopped"... Then the same with "com.google.process.gapps"...

After some investigations and trials, I can tell this happen when the watch try to download the next update. No more bluetooth, force close again and again when I try to go on the "About" menu...

I've tried to downgrade to the 4.1 firmware and it seems to resolve the problem, but if I upgrade to 4.2 again, the mess continue, force close after a moment and I can't pair the watch anymore.

Trying to update to the lollipop update manually, no chance at all... Sideload failed, TWRP install failed, ...

Have you any idea of what's going on ? I think I'll send back the watch to the seller soon.

two bricked gs3s in one day, where did I mess up in both instances?

i think i bricked two old s3s today waiting on the little usb to come from ebay to see if i can fix them
first brick bootloader by accident to pda instead of bootloader
the second worked well from the older baseband to the mj2 to the mjb to ne4 rom without a reboot loaded, and when i did a reset it shut off and didn't come back on.

Where did I mess up in both instances?
