Xperia Z3 won't boot to recovery; boots normally instead

Hi,

So I recently rooted my device using this guide and updated to lollipop using the links inside. However, I realized I didn't update to the latest version (5.0.2 instead of 5.1.1). So I decided to do that, when I realized I couldn't boot into recovery. Whenever I tried, the device would turn off instead. I downloaded Quick Boot, and when I hit to recovery, it instead just boots up as if it was just a normal restart.

Help would be appreciated.

I am using twrp recovery and whenever I try to flash the cyanogen zip file it fails saying e: unable to mount '/usbstorage'. before I orignally tryed to put cm on I created a backup with twrp and I have restored this, and this is the stage I am at now.
I am really stuck now and need some help please.
Thank you

Recovery partition is bad but it boots to os, help restore stock. KFHD 7 2014

I messed up trying to install TWRP. I kinda lost my factory reset. Is it possible to restore the factory boot restore. Attached is my new restore options. It will reset to "factory" but with kingroot and gapps.
How can I get a stock image back on here?
ADB from this recovery screen does not even register as plugged in.

Rooted G530M always boots to Recovery

Hi guys!

After rooting using CF-Auto-Root (CF-Auto-Root-fortunalte-fortunalteub-smg530m.tar.md5), my G530M always boots to Recovery mode with the following text:

"Android system recovery <3e>
KTU84P.530MUBU1NI4

Volume bla bla bla bla
{blue menu}

{cruel background image of an android corpe}

# MANUAL MODE #
-- Appling Multi-CSC . . .
Applied the CSC-code : PNT
Successfully applied multi-CSC."

By selecting "reboot system now", the phone boots ok and rooting works fine.
The problem is just the booting process stops in recovery EVERY time.
Any ideas?????

(Have already tried every solution I could find on-line

S2 boots once, then stalls

Hi guys,

I successfully followed the advice on this thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/gala...od-s2-t3189884) and I have installed CM12.1 's nightly from 29/8.

I boot in once, no problem. But on the second boot the phone bricks. The only way I can get into the system again is to load Philz kernel again and reinstall. But after the second boot the phone bricks again.

Any ideas? It may be the nightly, but even updating to the latest (31/8) didn't fix this.

I can get the CM10.1 stable to work fine, but that drain my battery faster than I can charge it.

I'd like to use 12.1, though: am I just doing something wrong that causes the bricking?

thanks,

When phone is off plugging in charger boots phone instead of charge mode

Phone is running stock kitkat. In the past when I turned off the phone and plugged in the charger a charging icon would appear with the percentage of charge. Now when I plug in the phone it boots to the UI. I preferred the previous behavior. I have not installed any new apps or modified the ROM.

I am thinking this could be solved with a factory reset but I'd like to avoid restoring all my apps and system settings from a Titanium backup.

TIA.

Semi-Bricked N7. Boots normally, but no fastboot or recovery

Hi All,

Really strange situation with my N7. I'm unable to boot into Fastboot or Recovery and when I do, it "bricks" my N7.

Or at least it does, until the battery drains after a couple of days. At which point, charging it backup allows me to reboot normally.

So the big question is, can I repair/overwrite the corrupted bootloader partition when it's running normally?

My device is unlocked, rooted, has SuperSU and BusyBox installed. In addition, I can run ADB commands, just no joy with the "adb reboot recovery" or "adb reboot-bootloader". I also have a TWRP created Nandroid backup, but without recovery working it's not really of much use at the moment.

Was thinking that maybe I could try sideloading? Or maybe there's a BusyBox command I could use to overwrite the bootloader partition? Or maybe there is something I could do while it's in APX mode using nvflash (if I can extract security blob from Nandroid backup)?

Any help would be appreciated. Seems a waste to install a new mainboard, as it still boots normally.

Many thanks!

Phone boots into system recovery after installing custom roms with safestrap

Hi,
I have a Verizon galaxy s5 and have been using optimal Rom for several months and wanted to try something new.
I used the instructions here http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2784880 and flashed the Nk2 tar file with odin.
I continue as per instructions and flash the NCG Stock kernel which allowed me to root and install safestrap.

I load into safestrap and install resurrection remix i get the installation successful message and reboot but phone reboots to system recovery screen.
I tried several times with same result.

Then i try fusion rom and after installation phone boots into system recovery.

WHat am i doing wrong?

Thanks
