Replacing volume and power flex cable help

My volume and power buttons recently began sticking almost to the point of not working, I tried sucking on them but they never got any better, so I ordered a new flex cable for the volume and power buttons and when I went to install it I realized I wasnt sure how to connect the two cables together. There was a small orange piece of tape I removed while disassembling the phone which I believe held it on but now that I have removed it it's no longer usable, I am wondering if I may be missing how to properly reconnect them or if they really do just sit on the pins with adhesive. Has anyone attempted this repair or have anymore information on it?

Battery Temp Sensor Issue after replacing battery

I replaced battery and USB Port on two Nexus 4 phones. Now the battery temperature perpetually reads 28.1C (give or take 0.1).

Battery and USB Port were ordered from FixEZ.com

USB Port replacement fixed original charging issues on both phones, but now have new issues. The new issue is that the phone struggles to top off the battery and make turn off unexpectedly at low battery with red LED.

My best guess is that if the battery perpetually reports 28.1C, then the phone can't compensate for battery temperature during charge/discharge.

I can feel the battery warm up during a charge from low battery (yes the battery, not the CPU) , but the highest I have ever seen the phone report the battery temp is 28.3C.

Assuming that the batteries were counterfeit/defective, I ordered 2 more replacements from FixEZ and started RMA for the first two. The two new batteries were marked differently (different source). I replaced the battery on one of the phones and get the same battery temp value issue.

So now, I'm at a loss what to check/do next. Is the battery temp sensor part of the battery? Or is it somewhere inside the phone and it's supposed to touch the battery?

Searching on battery temp issue tends to yield people with broken temp sensors (too cold). I do wonder if my issue is more common than people realize since I see a lot of nightmare stories about poor performance after changing the battery.

Replacing Screen Where to Buy

i shattered my screen today. It is the first time i have ever broken a screen on a mobile device (10 years)! i really want to make sure i go to the right place to buy a new screen and the threads that came up in the search were old. Amazon reviews seem iffy on everything i look into. i am considering getting the Eco-Fused Screen Replacement Kit for Samsung Galaxy Note 3 off amazon because it seems to have the best reviews. It only has 3 1/2 stars, but 165 votes which is a lot more than any of the others.

i was also considering getting a screen off of Repairs Universe (which was really the only solid suggestion i found on here, but from 4 year old thread).

etradesupplies supposedly offers the OEM Gorilla Glass, which seems like the best way to go, but i am skeptical that it is the real deal.

And if i do wind up just buying the screen, can anyone suggest the cheapest, but very reliable, kit?

Thanks in advance.

PS. This is for a TMobile device n9005

EDIT: i was looking at the wrong phone on eTrade Supplies :( They don't claim to have the OEM Gorilla Glass, unfortunately. But i won;t rule them out as a potential buy.

Screen backlight only after replacing motherboard

Hey folks! My Nexus 5 recently broke down and it seemed motherboard was damaged (i checked it via diagnostics tool). I replaced it and everything seems to be working fine, except screen is not showing anything. Weirdly, backlight is working! Phone itself is working too, I managed to unlock it and flashed latest firmware, but it didn't help. I also tried to reconnect screen flex cable, but it didn't help either. Any help will be much appreciated!

I attatch two photos of backlight working.

Replacing back plate drops waterproofness?

Hey guys, sorry if this has been questioned before.

My back cover/plate/glass thingy is shattered and I am willing to replace it (just for curiosity I don't care about the glass crack itself - I mostly want to replace the back cover because of my cam's lens peeled off).

Some dude of mine told me that if I do that I will lose the waterproofity.

Can someone confirm that?

Thanks!
