seeking ROM with specific reqs: no encryption and 'native' true silent mode

Hoping to pick the collective brains of XDA forum members:

Do you know of a stable, customizable, frequently updated ROM with good battery life which doesn't force encryption (although I found this in case I have to work around my encryption requirement) and has built in true silent mode? If such a thing exists, I'm all ears.

tl;dr special snowflake details:
I can't work out what benefit encryption brings me other than a performance hit, so I want to ditch it. The NSA is welcome to look through my somewhat mundane photos and documents if that is how they get their jollies.
The xposed implementation of true silent mode seems buggy when I ran it on 5.1.1 stock (sometimes volume down would make it go up, then down after a few more presses).
Having my battery last all day is pretty much my number one concern, followed by lashings of customizability.
Bonus points would be some way for me to override forced screenlock on corporate policy--as long as I can still remote wipe.

If it does all these things, has a good sense of humor and likes to take long walks on the beach, then you've found me my daily driver.

seeking suggestions on adding external hardware buttons to execute macro/scripts

I'm a noobie looking for suggestions on how to add external hardware buttons that can control any functions on a Kocaso Mid9200 tablet running Android 4.2.2. The basic goal is to push an external hardware button and play a favorite radio station in one app, or another hardware button to stop playing that app, and switch to another app and play specific favorites within that app. I'm open to writing macros/scripts that might invoke the desired function then linking a specific external hardware button to each different script. The tablet is rooted. The tablet is cheap and does not have either Bluetooth or NFC (so external NFC buttons like the Pressy or Dimple are not an option), it only has a USB port.

I've placed an order for a PCSensor Key Fere external programmable USB keyboard and plan to build macros keystrokes into that device to start the process. I've also started to look at using the External Keyboard Helper app to tie a keystroke to invoke an app. But I could use help in figuring out how to write a script/macro that could navigate within an app and select, for example, one of several favorite radio stations in the radio player app, and start/stop that station in the player. Ultimately I'd like to push one button on the external keypad, and have it invoke the desired player app, navigate within the app to select a specific station, and start that station playing.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Hi S6 Edge+ Users,

We are seeking honest and comprehensive feedback from real Samsung users of our cases for the Galaxy S6 Edge+. We are turning to XDA because members of XDA are more knowledgeable than the average user, and we know from reading your posts that you know how to scrutinize products and share your opinions.

For those interested in helping us out, we will provide a product sample of one of our Prestige Folio cases. There are only a limited number of samples that have been allotted to this program. If you are interested, please post a reply and send me a PM. We would like to get your initial feedback (first impressions) within 2 weeks of receipt and a follow up evaluation 4 to 8 weeks later would be greatly appreciated. If you are not willing to take the time to give us a thorough evaluation, please do not apply.
