Bought a NEW S5 from china - now I want to kill myself. (Verizon locked)

I recently bought an S5 on ebay from a seller in china. In the settings, it shows SM-G900A in 'About phone', but when I tried to flash a custom ROM, I got a message that Software not authorized by VERIZON was detected on the phone and I should return it to a Verizon retailer.
Since I live in Sweden, this is not an option, and I flashed back to stock.

This breaks my heart, completely. I don't want to be stuck on TouchWiz 4.4 - I've been running custom roms since the dawn of custom roms!

Is there any known way to bypass this crap? I've already sent a message to the chinese guy, but my hopes are not to high.

At least it could be rooted with towelroot, so I'm not completely screwed.

I have a Chinese HTC ONE M8.

• CID HTCCN704


• MID 4.29.1403.7

I would like to install a custom ROM because I do not like the Chinese stock ROM.

• Bootloader unlocked


• S-On


• TWRP 2.8.7.0 recovery installed


• SuperSU 2.46 installed

Custom ROMs seem to install successfully but then I get stuck in bootloop.

I have tried wiping data and reinstalling recoveries but this does not work.

Could there be a restriction with the Chinese firmware?

How to activate new Google Nexus 7 tablet when the Google is blocked (China)

I ordered this from amazon.com USA and received it in China

I have just turned on this device and this is the first screen and there no option to skip it unless I complete it. When there is no WiFi connection, there is no option to click next.

So when I click next after connecting to WiFi which is the only way I can have the NEXT option enable so when I connect to WiFi and click next, after some loading screen I get this message: ERR_CONNECTION_RESET.

I think this is because the device must connect to some google's server (which is blocked in china) to get past this first step.
P.S. This is NOT my account registration it (as it didn't ask me about it yet) I think its device registration of some kind in the newest android stock version. Hope you understand
Is there a way to activate it without an internet so I can get past this process? Please advice.

I need help on china bricked GT-N9000 note 3

I have a Galaxy Note 3 phone that no longer boots after I tried a hard reset. I maybe stupidly cleared that cache and it froze during the process making me remove that battery. Now it just flashes and goes dead when connected to power or when i try switching on.

The challenge is that I don't know the chip type though its MTK. I also am not sure if its Korean or Chinese clone going by the "fake" label.

I also see this "a3_mb_v1.0." on it and dont know if it has to do with the chip. I have tried flashing with the following roms mt6582 and mt6572 both keep getting the message that the scatter file does not match the chip.

Can anyone help me with link to a rom that works?:crying:

Help migrating HTC m8sd China Telecom to India

I have HTC m8sd china telecom version S-off using sunshine, have tried various methods to port to india rom but failed, have tried using india RUU as indicated in OTA, RUU thread, using china telecom RUU and then restoring india twrp backup, bindroid, oweida etc but am not able to migrate the same, the system goes on continous reboot ( have followed steps to the letter), the best i was able to do was getting GSM +GSM on both SIM's but i require CDMA REVB EVDO on my mobile. pl. help

China Sense - Changes/Differences compared to Sense

After playing around with some RUUs on my E9+, and trying out the HTCCN build, I saw a handful of new features.

App Ops
Auto Start
Brightness Slider in the notification shade
Running app cleaner in the multitask menu
Lockscreen with fewer shortcuts

Now, if I just go to the default.xml in ACC and enable the China Sense flag, then some of these features come back.

I wanted to know where in the device is it determined that certain features are enabled with China Sense.
I went through the majority of the system, but there is nothing glaring obvious that shows any information about it.

China Phone Suggestions

First of all sorry if i posted in the wrong sections, but i couldnt find a place where it would fit better
So i am looking for a new china phone but cant find "the one"
Right now i have a OnePlus One and i want the new one to be a nice upgrade
Here are my criteria:
QHD 5-5,5" Display (actually anything better than 1080p is fine)
Good Custom Rom Support
Processor should be at least as strong as the OnePlus One's
Maybe Gimmicks like Touch ID or Heartrate Sensor, but dont have to be
Double Tap to Wake would be cool too
I think all high-end smartphone have a really good camera, so i dont have to mention it

I would buy it next year in january or february, so it does not even have to be out yet

I will be traveling in China next month and I would like to order the phone while I am there directly from Xiaomi. How long it takes delivery in China from mi.com? Which cards accept for payment?

Letv X1 (X800) & letv max (X900) cracks CDMA (China Telecom) carrier restrictions

In ota update LETV official August 26 push 005s stable version, we found a hidden restrictions on opening CDMA operators, tested, the method is applicable to Letv X1 (X800) & letv max (X900) version, now this method will tell you.

;):)
• First, we are going to use the CDMA sim card into the phone

• In the phone dial-up interface, enter "* # * # 9439 # * # *" code. (Where 9434 is representative of the China Telecom CDMA operator code)


• We will see the options screen pops up, as shown, tick "启动中国电信网络 (CDMA)", then reboot . On OK! :D
