Hey
because my Huawey U8800 (amazing phone btw) died, i bought a Wiko Cink Peax 2 in October/2013.. by the specs/price and some good reviews i though this would be a great purchase and a popular model for dev.. after all this is a quad-core with 4GB ROM, micro-sim and interesting built (i only see a big problem with GPS and the camera could be much better)
anyway, two years later here i am, almost alone, seeking for some ROM, stock or custom, greater than 4.1.2 (i even got yesterday some 4.2.2 to an older ZTE Blade 1st Gen - a phone with about five years! and i think the Huawei U8800 already has some 5.1 - a phone with more than four years)..
from what i've been reading over the months, Wiko and/or MediaTek didn't released all the source code/drivers need to devs (why not looking for this in Tinno Mobile, the manufacturer?).. but i saw in last months some really dev improvements in Wiko Darkmoon and Wiko Starway (by @superdragonpt i guess).. my first question is about this.. what's the difference from this phones and all other Wiko/MTK models? It's beacause there are devs in this models and not others or because Wiko/Mtk only released sources to this models?
Other question, i've been looking for ports and clone models of Wiko Cink Peax but till today i'm not sure what to look.. sometime ago i thought Micromax Canvas 2 plus was a clone of the Peax 2 but now i'm not so sure..
recently i saw this info in a SoC table in some Mediatek Wikipedia page:
Specs: MT6589 / 28 nm / ARMV7-A / 4 curs / Cortex-A7 à 1,2 Ghz / PowerVR SGX544MP1
Models: Acer Liquid E2 / E3, Magic Media i5,Star S5 MIZ Z2, Wiko Cink Five, Wiko Cink Peax 2
Does this mean that ROMs make to this models would work in Cink Peax 2 or that's just impossible because other hardware differences (mainly screen size/resolusion/ppi; camera; ...)?
Thanks
