Mods, please move this to a Rumrunner thread if it exists for S-off for M7. I could only find 1 thread by grantymc for rumrunner and its unanswered(different issue anyway).Sorry for any violations.Just a total noob here.
I recently followed ,step -by-step ,the well known noob friendly youtube tutorial from sakitech and on the first attempt successfully rooted my HTC one 802d(cdwg,dual sim- Indian version),CID- HTC_038. Hboot 2.49.0000.Android 5.0.2. ,Sense 6.0 (Flashed twrp recovery for my device version alongwith with Super Su 2.46) ;)
I then followed sakitechs video for acheiving S-Off (youtube.com/watch?v=NeFwsqU4YL4) (yeah,yeah noob move,it's probably unecessary) :silly:,...using the universal htc rumrunner package (0.5.0)from their site .Was going fine till this showed up in rumrunners cmd window----

hmm, cap is on tighter than I expected........
hell, that damn cap is on REALLY tight.......
unfortunately this isn't going to work out with your configuration. you have 2
options:
1.) flash an unsecure kernel that's compatible with your ROM and retry rumrunner
(preferred and most reliable method).
2.) flash a different rom.
NOTE: No amount of messing around with su binaries and apk's is going to fix thi
s issue for you!!!.

Now here's the problem--Option 2 is not possible for me.Most people with this device try using Chinese roms if not Stock but from what I've seen from threads here ,bricking is fairly common when those are applied in this Indian dual sim model.Most custom roms are NOT compatible with this device ,so I am sticking to my rooted stock rom.That only leaves option 1.
So could someone be kind enough to explain to me(step by step),how I could achieve this ( " flash an unsecure kernel that's compatible with your ROM and retry rumrunner") and what it really even means?? :confused: .Or am I missing something and have got it seriously wrong??:rolleyes: Please help.Thanks :fingers-crossed:
