Can't refresh the new Google app [Sultan's ROM]

My OPO is rooted with a clean install of Sultan's ROM.

With the latest update to the Google app, I can't seem to force refresh the Google Now page by swiping down. Nothing happens. Tried clearing app cache and rebooting phone but it didn't fix it.

Anyone encountered this?
