Is there anyway to change some internal settings without root so I can tether unlimited

Wifi Tether issues after 5.1 update Verizon

My Wifi Tether is not firing up correctly after I've updated to 5.1 on Verizon. I am rooted with stock.
I've tried settings from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto...oto-x-t2449534
but these settings don't work. It tells me "tether started with errors." Then when I check the log it says the file doesn't exist. I cannot find any wifi networks on my computer after I start it.

Again, I am rooted with stock 5.1 firmware. Anyone had any luck with it?

Tether app?

I'm rooted. Just curious what tethering app you guys are using. I see there are TONS of them in the play store. Any recommendations?

Auto Tether or widget to toggle hotspot

Hi,

Is there an app that will auto start tether when it detects a bluetooth connection? I have used a few in the past with previous phones and they would work with KK, but now on Note 5 lollipop they dont seem to work anymore. I've tried trigger, but sometimes it would not work. I've tried "In-Dash Tether" "AutoTether for Automatica" I've tried Tasker, I've tried all that i can find, nothing seems to work.

I'm at a point that I want to make a script that would run when trigger using in conjunction with trigger or tasker.

I need this because I want to use in my car so whenever i enter my car it would auto turn on.

Any sggestions will be appreciated.

WiFi tether

I just got a note 4 and didn't do my research about the root issues. Shame on me. I rely heavily on WiFi tethering. Am I screwed or is there a way to get it to work without root?

Tether and Windows 10 ?

Can tether run with windows 10. It ran on 8.1 but since the upgrade to 10 doesn't work.

Can you WiFi tether for free if you have root?

Been thinking about picking up a Galaxy S5 off eBay but recently discovered that the bootloader isn't unlocked. So the question is if I can still tether for free without paying Verizon? I remember being able to do this using PDANet back in the Galaxy Nexus days but been out of the Android ecosystem for a while.

Wifi tether routher slows down for PS4 Help

I decided to root my phone (galaxy S5) and downloaded the Wi-Fi tether router from the play store. I recently got a message saying " You've used 100% of the paid high speed data on your T-mobile plan. Your Smartphone Mobile Hotspot speed will now be limited to 128 kbps until 09/23/2015. Smartphone data will still be at full speeds. My laptop connects at full speed when using a vpn. Last month it also would work using a user agent and the console would be unaffected for some reason this month T-mobile has found a way to stop it. The console will obtain the IP address, internet connection is successful but the download speed says 128 kbps making everything unplayable. My APN and router settings are all correct and I don't know what to do. This is my only means of playing online or enjoying Netflix plz help me.

T-Mobile tether fix after rooting?

Hi all, I just rooted successfully thanks to the excellent work by Manh_IT.

My question is: post-root, what exact steps need to be taken to fix tethering for T-Mobile? In the past I've had Nexus phones and the process was:
1) Edit APN to be IPV4 only
2) Edit build.prop for no provisioning
3) Edit system SqlLite DB for no provisioning
That's it. On this device I already see that I can't edit APN even with root. I also am wondering if the Hotspot needs to be altered in any other way specific to this phone? Anyone know? Thank you!!

CM 12.1 wifi tether

Does wifi tethering on Cyanogenmod affect my bill (extra hotspot charge or just add's to my data usage)? I'm running one of the CM 12.1 nightly builds (from August) on my Verizon HTC one MAX and I'm curious about wifi tethering. I have unlimited data and used PDA-net and Fox-Fi at times on my stock build. PDA-net USB tether seems to be working fine for CM, but I don't believe Fox-Fi will work on Android L. I believe CM has wifi tethering built in, and would like to know if it works like foxfi, so I don't get charged extra. Thanks :)

Wifi tether extremely slow......usb tether fast

Have an unlocked att note 3 on tmobile network.have the unlimited plan which includes 7gb of tethering data.using Fabios wifi tether with the X moto tether mod found in xposed. Running firekat v21. My problem is when any device connects I get around 10kbp.. loads Web pages just really slow.if I usb tether get full speeds. Anyone know what the culprit could be.adjusted apn to fast . tmobile . com ipv4. When usb tethering use pdanet. The wifi thether in there will also be just as slow.

ROMS w/ Unlimited Tether?

Anyone here using any ROMs that have unlimited tether built in? Just curious. Rooting my sisters Edge and she asked if that was a possibility.
