Gear Fit won't connect to Galaxy S6 after successful pairing

Hoping for some help after talking to useless Samsung chat support. I've got a Gear Fit that won't connect to my S6. It connects just fine to a friend's phone. Keis3 says it has the latest firmware. I've tried downloading the Gear Fit Manager a few different ways and I always get the same response: after confirming the pass key I am told "Failed to connect your Gear Fit. Try to connect via Gear Fit Manager. Refer to the manual for more information." Any tips? Thanks in advance. :)

It sounds like a solution may be odindownload.com and flashing the Fit with the r350xxu0bnd8 firmware? Is this still the best option?
