Ever since the most recent update (5.1.1), "Google Contacts Sync" is hogging ALL of my home WiFi's bandwidth.
I have disabled syncing on all of my Google accounts connected with the phone, but still the app is chugging along through my data. If I connect my phone to any WiFi network, the network instantly gets choked by the ridiculous amount of data that Google Contacts Sync is eating.
For now I have installed Mobiwol and cut off Google Contacts Sync's access to mobile and WiFi networks, and this is working so far. But it's a bandaid on the bigger problem.
What the hell is Google Contacts Sync doing, and how do I get it to stop?
