Can I flash OF1 without Boot Loader?

I need to go back to a stock unrooted phone, but I don't want to lose the ability to get root down the road. I know OF1 doesn't currently have an exploit, but my question is can I download the OF1 tar, extract it and remove the bootloader.img and then zip it back up to tar and flash that with Odin on my OC1 device? I don't mind testing, but I don't want to do anything that will brick my phone. Also, would I need to remove the recovery as well?
