Android Pay | Remove lock screen w/ out 3rd party apps or trusted location?

Hey everyone,

i have a rooted nexus 6 on the latest Google Fi firmware (LVY48F) 5.1.1. I've never been partial to lock screen patters or pins or anything else for that matter, swiping works for me just fine.

After scouring the interwebz, i have yet to find a solution to the following:

1. How can i disable the lock screen& still use Android Pay?


2. If the first option isn't possible yet - how can i remove android pay AND return to just swipe lock screen?

I don't really want to use xposed unfortunately. Are there any build.prop tweaks i'm unaware of?

I've tried disabling android pay and even clearing data on the app to see if the lock screen option allows me to revert back to just swiping but it stays grayed out.
