[GUIDE] Proper way to updgrade to Lollipop. Fixed repartitioning and TRIM

I'll start from the beginning, as if you had just bought the phone. Custom 4.2, 4.3, 4.4 should also be fine.

0) Update to last official 4.1.2 JB to avoid any oddity with older android versions (such has SuperBrick bug)
1) Root the phone if you didn't already
2) Backup (if needed):3) Move all your data and backups to external storage (SdCard, USB OTG, computer)
Repartition (from recovery)

  1. Install a decent recovery (TWRP is also good)

  2. Boot into recovery and flash one of the provided zips. Personally I used the one you can find in the bottom of this post.

  3. Wipe Cache, Dalvik Cache, Data, emmc (Internal Storage) and System

Repartition (from Odin)

  1. Download Odin 1.85 (drivers)

  2. Download 768 MB small preload .pits. I personally use the 6GB version but de gustibus

  3. Download last tar.md5 of PhilZ Touch recovery ¹

  4. Open Odin, put the PIT file in the namesake and the kernel in PDA

  5. Press start and wait.

  6. Boot into recovery and enter make_ext4fs /dev/block/mmcblk0p12 command in adb shell

4) Download latest TRIM-FPBug kernel by Lanchon for CM12.1 on i9100²
5) Flash CM 12.1 with the same build number
6) Flash the previously downloaded kernel and gapps (avoid anything above mini)
7) (optional) Update to latest baseband
8) (optional) After first boot, force TRIMming
