Won't charge from mains

Hi, my wife's s3 mini, about 1.5 years old wont charge from the mains. i've tried a few different charges and they all charge my s4 but not her s3 mini. it will charge from a laptop usb port though, also my anker portable battery bank.
Any thoughts what's causing this?
